Special Needs Law is based on creating a life plan for individuals with disabilities in order to achieve the goal of independent living. But estate planning and elder law attorneys aren’t the only practitioners who should be familiar with Special Needs Law. Attorneys who secure personal injury settlements, spousal and child support awards, and workers compensation settlements for their clients also need to have an understanding of Special Needs Law to protect their disabled clients’ access to public benefits.
