Public Act No. 16-40, a substitute for raised S.B. 142, modifying the 2015 Connecticut Uniform Power of Attorney Act passes in the House of Representatives and has moved on to the Governor’s office for final approval.  A copy of the legislation can be found by clicking here.

In a May 10, 2016, decision, Pikula v. the Department of Social Services, the Connecticut Supreme Court concluded the language in a testamentary trust created a discretionary supplemental needs trust, despite use of the terms “support and maintenance.”  For the full text of the decision click here.
